Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez Gives the Lowdown on Daddy Yankee

Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez, known as Jesa, became an Internet sensation at the age of three when she was photographed dancing with Latin superstar Daddy Yankee during his concert in her hometown of El Salvador. After news of her adorable dance moves went viral, Jesa became even more popular when Yankee invited her to reenact the dance onstage with him during one of his recent concerts in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Who is she?

Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez is a Puerto Rican-born, Philadelphia-based writer with a passion for culture. She has been writing professionally since 2004 and currently manages her own blog, Puerto Rico in Philadelphia. Jesaaelys graduated from Temple University with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. When she’s not writing, you can find her dancing salsa or taking care of her two kids.
On February 18th, 2014 Sabado Gigante premiered their skit Quien Es Ella?
which featured Daddy Yankee giving playful pokes at an impersonator who was looking to become an official member of his team. This impersonator turned out to be none other than Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez (with some expert prosthetics and wig work) who soon became an internet sensation as people began discussing her looks over her talent.
As it turns out, while she looked like a great copycat of Jencarlos’ girl Yesely, in reality it was Jencarlos’ real life boo that he’s been dating for over 6 years now! Her name is Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez and all this time we’ve been following someone else’s love story instead of hers.
You might know Jesaaelys by her blogger name Puerto Rico in Philadelphia where she documents the life of a young mom trying to survive in Philly without forgetting about her island roots. Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez is an award-winning journalist and dedicated daddy Yankee fan. Jesaaelys was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother.
Jesaaelys’s father is a business mogul and her mother is a real estate agent. Growing up, Jesaaelys enjoyed painting, playing with Barbie dolls, reading, listening to music and singing. She also enjoys watching movies and going shopping with her mommy!
Jessaaelys graduated from Universidad Católica Notre Dame where she received her bachelor of arts degree.
She worked as a producer for Latin American networks, such as Telemundo Internacional, Mundial TV and Fox Sports World. How many brothers and sisters does she have?

I have seven siblings, I’m the second oldest. My youngest brother is six years old and my oldest sister is 21. Four of them are boys and three of them are girls. One of my brothers has autism and another one has Down syndrome. I’m so happy to have a younger brother with Down syndrome, he’s so cute!

What does her father do?

Daddy Yankee is a Latin American musician and actor. Jesaaelys tells us that he’s been in the music industry for over 15 years, and has his own clothing line and fragrance. He also has won many awards, including an MTV Video Music Award, Latin Grammy Award and Grammy Award.
Jesaaelys says that he’s been collaborating with other artists like Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin, but her favorite collaboration is with Luis Fonsi because they are both Puerto Rican. She also likes La Rompe Corazones because it talks about how love can be difficult sometimes but will always come back around to you.

Why is she famous now?

Jesaaelys Ayala Gonzalez is a 10-year old girl who has spent her entire life watching and listening to music, especially that of Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee. She not only loves his music, but she’s also gained an incredible amount of knowledge about him. At first, she was just a fan like any other 10-year old girl would be.
